Polyform A5 Norwegian Marine Buoy / Heavy-Duty Inflatable Mooring Buoy / Offshore Floatation Device – Model A5 – Max 215 Kg Buoyancy 🔹 Product Description
The Polyform A5 Buoy is a large, heavy-duty marine buoy from the highly respected Polyform A-Series, engineered to deliver maximum buoyancy and strength for offshore and commercial maritime operations.
Like all A-Series models, the A5 is manufactured using rotational molding from flexible, UV-stabilized marine-grade vinyl, offering high durability against harsh environmental conditions including saltwater, oil, and solar exposure.
With a gross buoyancy of 215.0 kg and a recommended load capacity of 129.0 kg, this model is ideal for demanding mooring, anchoring, and boundary-marking applications in deep water or dynamic current environments.
Measuring 940 mm in length and 710 mm in diameter, the A5 provides a broad flotation surface with excellent stability and high visibility, even in turbulent sea states.
The reinforced ropehold is molded directly into the buoy’s structure and features an eye diameter of 28 mm, offering reliable compatibility with chains, mooring lines, and shackles for secure deployment.
Weighing only 8.30 kg, the A5 strikes an optimal balance between high flotation and lightweight handling, making it manageable for deck crews to handle without cranes or winches.
Designed to operate within a safe inflation pressure range of 0.15–0.20 bar at 20°C, this buoy retains structural integrity under normal pressure conditions and resists overexpansion when inflated correctly.
Due to its size and buoyancy, the A5 is commonly used in aquaculture farms, offshore oil support, barge positioning, vessel anchoring, fishery equipment marking, and as a marker buoy in shipping lanes or marine installations.
The buoy's durable construction and non-marking surface make it suitable for high-contact environments, where it may rub against metal hulls, concrete piers, or rigid structures without causing damage or surface transfer.
Polyform A5 buoys are part of a line designed to perform in extreme temperature ranges, typically from -30°C to +60°C, allowing them to serve reliably in arctic expeditions, tropical offshore facilities, or seasonal marine projects.
The A5 is often deployed individually for mooring large boats and vessels, or in clusters for floating arrays, perimeter delineation, or anchored structures where stable flotation is critical.
Its color-coded, glossy exterior enhances daytime visibility, with common color options (e.g., red, orange, white) helping vessel operators and harbor masters easily identify lines or areas marked by the buoy.
The A5 buoy is trusted by professionals in marine research, port authorities, coast guards, oil & gas contractors, and commercial fishing operators, offering operational dependability under high-stress marine scenarios.
Designed with low maintenance requirements, it is easy to rinse clean, inspect, and store during off-season periods, ensuring continued performance year after year.
All Polyform A-Series buoys, including the A5, are ISO-certified and DNV-compliant, reflecting their adherence to global safety, performance, and environmental responsibility standards.
